Car insurance is becoming more expensive every year, so it’s more important than ever to try and reduce the price of your renewal quotation. Be aware of multi product discounts and online discounts as they can reduce the cost by up to 25%. Free cover features are offered as incentives to get you to buy a policy from them, these include courtesy car, free cover when driving abroad and legal cover.
You current no claims bonus status is a major factor that all insurance companies use to calculate the cost of the premium, but the good news is it is one that all motorist can control by being a good driver. Insurance providers have different no claims discounts and depend on how many years no claims you have. Some only give a discount to motorists who have more than five years. But if the company only can offer a maximum discount for up to five years then its time for you to shop around as you should be able to get a least nine years maximum no claims bonus. Some suppliers offer motorist up to 70% discount for a good no claims history. That’s quite a discount!
That’s why it is probably a good idea to protect your no claims history status if you can. There is always an extra cost to do this on your policy, but it is well worth the extra cost in order to get a discount every year of around 70%. If you are involved in an accident and its not you’re fault then your status would not be affected anyway. Getting lower priced motor insurance might take some research but the money you can save on a yearly basis will be worth the time and effort.
