Car Insurance – Young Drivers Pay Higher Premiums
So why is it that young drivers will always pay higher car insurance premiums than other motorists? Insurers consider them to be higher risk than any other category of drivers for making a claim, and statistical evidence proves this statement. If you are under the age of 25, then most insurance premiums will be very expensive.
But although they are the most expensive group for paying insurance, there are still some things that they I do to reduce the costs, and at least give them some savings every year on their car insurance renewal quote. Young drivers need to become safe drivers and keep it that way. They need to build up their no claims history each year so that they can get a no claims discount offered by the provider. A no claims discount is a major factor that motorists can build up every year that gives them bigger savings on their policy. It’s also a good idea to keep a clean driving license to because if you have any driving convictions on your license this will go against go for getting a cheaper quote. The insurers will see you as a liability when driving and you being more likely to be involved in a road accident.
In order to get the cost down, why not take out a third party fire and theft policy? Do you need a fully comprehensive car insurance policy? If you have a cheaper car that is not worth that much this might be a good tactic going forward. Third party cover will just cover you if you have an accident and it was someone else’s fault. If you were responsible for the accident you would have to repair your car with your own money.
Young drivers might want to consider taking an advanced driving course or pass plus examination. This will show to the insurer that you are a safer driver and may even get a small discount.
Another way of getting a lower quote is to add your parents on to the policy, with their good driving history and no claims bonus if may bring the price down a bit.
